This piece originated from a series of paper studies initiated during the confinement period. The initial approach was to develop three dimensional forms from a single square sheet of paper, without waste or glue, using only cutting and folding, drawing from the spirit of Japanese kirigami.
In its final form, through its stepped cuts and intersecting planes unfolding in space, it suggests a spatial pathway. But when observed more carefully, it becomes possible to mentally retrace the sequence of folds in reverse, leading back to the original flat square sheet.
